Lawyer Shanshan Xu had ever acted as a teacher at Chinese Customs College over 7 years and has practiced the law in international trade and customs over 20 years, which has made her become a pioneer in such area in China. Ms. Xu has successfully represented a commodity classification case that was resolved through the World Customs Organization, a valuation case where the General Administration of Customs reduced taxes by one billion yuan after the administrative reconsideration, an industrial smuggling case that was collectively returned by the procuratorate without prosecution, and a smuggling case confirmed as innocent by the High People’s Court. Ms. Xu was awarded as the Outstanding Performer in Shanghai Political Consultative Committee, the Outstanding Lawyer in Shanghai, a leading lawyer in Chinese customs area, the first prize of the “Outstanding Pleadings” in 2014 Shanghai Lawyers’ Academic Competition, etc. Ms. Xu has published a book called “Customs Valuation Risks in Determining Transaction Price under the Multilateral Trading System”, and presided over projects and topics such as “Guidelines for Risk Prevention and Compliance of Shanghai Enterprises in International Operation”, “National Security and Enterprise Compliance under Sanctions and Counteractions from the Perspective of the Russia-Ukraine conflict”.
