Martin Polaine is a barrister (England & Wales) and arbitrator. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (FAIADR).

Martin advises states, corporates and individuals across most regions of the world and has extensive experience in both civil law and common law jurisdictions. His practice includes international arbitration (commercial and state-investor), public international law (especially international trade/sale of goods and international investment law), corporate and institutional governance, and regulatory and compliance (including corporate investigations, ESG, anti-corruption and financial regulatory).

Martin is a legal adviser and reviewer to Lexis Nexis on commercial compliance/regulatory and a published author of legal texts (with Oxford University Press and others). He is also a Teaching Fellow at the College of Law (Sydney).

Although London-based, Martin has a particular focus on Asia-Pacific and is a Senior Consultant at H & H Lawyers (Sydney & Melbourne).
