Kato Aerts became a partner at Lydian in January 2023. Her expertise spans individual and collective labour law, with a particular focus on international employment matters. Kato’s extensive experience in cross-border employment has given her a deep understanding of social security-related issues, leading her to publish several articles on the subject. Kato is regularly invited to speak as an expert on cross-jurisdictional employment law panels. Her active involvement in professional associations further highlights her expertise. Kato is the President of AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers, the only global association dedicated to lawyers and inhouse legal counsel under the age of 45). Additionally, Kato is an active member of UIA (Union International des Avocats) and serves on the Editorial Board of the Juriste International, the magazine issued for all UIA members.
