Miwa Shoda is a Co-Chair of Japan Practice of Jenner & Block LLP and admitted to practice law both in Japan (currently inactive) and the US.  She started her career as a lawyer at one of the leading law firms (Mori Hamada & Matsumoto) in Japan in 2004.  Since she moved to the US and started practicing in California in 2008, she has handled a variety of legal matters that Japanese companies faced across the US, including substantial litigations and arbitrations for 17 years.  Drawing on her practice experience and legal education in both countries, and a deep understanding of Japanese business culture and language skills, she represents many Japanese companies in various industries in the US.  Miwa has repeatedly received awards, including “Litigation – USA; Foreign Expert (Japan)” by Chambers Global, “Top 100 Lawyers” by the Los Angeles Business Journal, and “Top Women Lawyers” by Daily Journal, among others.
